When I finally took the leap into this little blog design journey in July, I had no idea what to expect. I didn't think I'd have any interest. I was literally squealing like a 7 year old at a One Direction concert when I got my 1st client. Seriously...you can ask Jason... he laughed at me. Then I got another...and another...and soon I found myself staying up way too late to work on designs, but I loved it! I loved the people I've met, and hearing their stories.
Then, later in July, Jason proposed and the wedding planning began. I had my dream venue picked out and when we went to visit, I fell in love. I looked at Jason and said, "I don't care if I have to eat ramen noodles and PB&J sandwiches for the whole school year, I want to get married here."
Fortunately, I haven't had to do that, yet. We still have 70some (okay, exactly 73) days left until we say, "I do". This design business has quickly become a huge blessing in our lives. Jason constantly tells me I need to increase prices, which I have a couple times, but that was more because I began to create custom clipart, so it was taking a little more time and I knew I'd still be affordable.
I take pride in being different from other designers by not offering packages, add ons, extras, etc. Everything you could need or want is included. Want a TpT banner a month after I design your blog? No problem! Need to add a Facebook tab? You betcha! Am I going to charge you $5-$10...uhm, no. The only time I've ever charged an additional fee is if someone purchased a pre-designed template, and decided later they wanted to have more than what is included in a pre-design, and I want to keep it that way.
I understand that not everyone can afford $100+ blog designs...and honestly, I don't know how someone can pay that much! Do I spend hours and hours on a design? Yes. But I can't (without feeling uneasy about it) charge someone that much for something that I enjoy doing and know makes people happy. I just can't, and I won't.
Please know that each and every dollar I've made in this business has gone to the wedding of our dreams. Because of you, I haven't had to eat Ramen and PB&J every day. I'm so thankful for your support, kind words, and constant positive feedback. It means so much to me!
I decided awhile ago that I would take May and June off from designing to focus on finalizing my wedding plans, and enjoy time with my husband {to-be}. I didn't think I would open spots until I got back from our Honeymoon, but the more I thought about it, I decided to keep the form open, and continue to take clients starting June 28th.
I realize this is a long wait, and some of you may not want to wait that long, and I completely understand. I also know that summer vacation is the time when a lot of teachers start their blogging and TpT journeys, so I want to make sure any of you that are interested can get your spot on my list secured.
